About Pomapoo's and Pomskies

What is a Pomapoo?

Pomapoos are a mixed designer breed between a Pomeranian and Mini Poodle. They have also been known to be called Pooranian, Pompoo, or Pomeroodle.

 Personality

Pomapoos typically are not aggressive, or shy. They are very friendly once they get to know you. They can be a bit reserved around new people. We socialize our pups early on so they get used to new people and other dogs. Pomapoos will have a loving connection with the entire family, but generally will have a stronger connection to their main caregiver.

Pomskies are a bit of a comedian and love to capture your attention with their cuteness. They are adaptable to change and need daily exercise. They tend to inherit their Husky trait of chatty howling and whining tendencies. as well as the Pomeranian penchant for yapping. Pomskies tend to latch onto their favorite human in the family, even still they will love all humans in the home.

Common Health Concerns

Pomapoos are prone to luxating patellas, epilepsy, developing cataracts.

Pomskies are prone to Hip and elbow dysplasia, bloat, eye problems, allergies, skin problems, degenerative disc disease and heart disease.

It is important to keep your dog healthy, that's why we recommend a high quality diet, and regular veterinary visits and immunizations.

What is a Pomsky?

Pomskies are a mix between a Husky and Pomeranian. They are a rare breed as we have to do Artificial Insemination. Our mom, Bella is a purebred Husky that is 50 lbs. Our dad, Harvey is a purebred Pomeranian that is 14 lbs.

There isn't a ton of history on this breed as it is newer.

Living in an apartment?

That's no worries for our Pomapoo breed. Their smaller size is perfect for living in smaller spaces as long as they get their exercise in.

Pomskies could live in an apartment but they need a lot more exercise then a smaller dog breed. As long as they have a space and regular walks to burn off that Husky energy.

Coat and Care?

Pomapoos are considered Hypoallergenic because of the poodle parent, but people will allergies can still be sensitive to them. They require regular daily brushing as their coat can mat easily like the Pomeranian.  Regular grooming and brushing their teeth is required as well.

Pomskies are not Hypoallergenic. Both parents shed so they take after them. Regular brushing and grooming is required. They can take after either parent for coat. Either fluffy like a Husky or soft like the Pomeranian. They have a thick double coat like the Husky, and can handle colder climates.

Life Span?

Pomskies life span is 12-15 years.

Pomapoos life span is 12-15 years.

Weight and Height?

Pomapoos weight can be anywhere from 5-15 lbs and 8-10 inches at the shoulder.

Our Pomskies should get to be around 30 lbs fully grown. They should stand 10-15 Inches at the shoulder.

Are they good with other pets and children

Pomapoo's  are excellent with other pets and children. Especially pomapoos love having them around. All of our puppies are introduced and handled at an early age with my children and they love playing in the yard with them. They are also used to having other dogs around.

Pomskies can sometimes be a bit much for really small children because their so active and playful. It's best if they are socialized young. They are used to our children which are a bit older.
